TRAINING FOR PSYCHOLOGISTS FROM GENERAL DIRECTORATE "EXECUTION OF SENTENCES" IN THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE

On 12th of January 2015, 35 psychologists from General Directorate “Execution of sentences” started their participation in a training in Sofia organized under the pre-defined project “Improving the competences of staff in psychological selection and counselling”. The total budget of the project is 204 856 Euro and it is financed under Programme BG 15 “Correctional services, including non-custodial measures” funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014.

The implementation of the activities of the project will result in better recruitment procedures in the penitentiary system and early acknowledgment of risk behavior among the inmates. In the long term the implementation of the psychological diagnostic instruments will facilitate the implementation of the European standards for working with offenders and will improve the teamwork among the prison staff.
